Why You Shouldn't Be Afraid to Take a Business Break

Building a business can so ruthless and hard. What makes it great are all the positive things you get from being a business owner. One of which is not having a cap on your potential financial income or revenue. It’s also the freedom and flexibility of being able to pack up your business for however long and come back exactly when you want. Do not let fear hold you back from doing what’s best both you and your business. If you need to take a business break, do it.

How to Take a Business Break without Losing Clients

Make a Plan

The first think you need to do is make a plan about what you want your return to look like. Do  you want to jump right back into client work? Or do you want to ease into? Whatever is ideal for you, plan for that. Once you figure out what you want to do, all that’s like do is plan and execute. That sounds simple, but it’s not. However, planning and executing makes it possible to take time out of your business and have a healthy business to return to.

Communicate

Once you’ve decided on a plan and what’s ideal for you, you need to have open and honest conversations with your clients. Part of relationship building with your clients is communicating well and often. Letting your clients know in advance is important to maintain those relationships and easier to plan what it looks like when you return.

Pitch Existing Clients

The final thing to do is to pitch your existing clients. Start putting ideas in their head for what you have in mind on your return. As you’re planning head, send your existing clients emails pitching your ideas – pitch your idea, why they need it, and the benefit of it. If they want to work on it, share that you’ll be able to circle back after your return to work on it. The benefit of this pitching is you’re thinking ahead and anticipating your clients need. This is valuable to both you and your clients.
